Fortune Cookie Soap Body Butter Review

The most amazing scent I've encountered!
By zfyreangel from Las Vegas, NV on 12/30/2013

5out of 5
Pros: Creamy, Long Lasting Scent, Moisturizes, Good Value, Pleasant Smell
Best Uses: Daily Use, After bathing
Describe Yourself: Budget Buyer
I was so amazed by this body butter. I fell in love with the scent when I got my quarterly box and knew I had to have more of the body butter (I got Halloween Town in my box.) This is the perfect consistency for me. It moisturizes and doesn't feel greasy. The scent also lasts for HOURS! I can smell it all throughout my bathroom after I've put it on. Its amazing and well worth the price.

Meaningful Beauty Crème de Serum - Review

Good morning everyone! I wanted to review a product I received complimentary to test out from Influenster. Going to get the legal stuff out of the way.....

I received a small sample bottle of the serum a few weeks ago - I figured that would give me enough time to give an actual review rather than just a first impression. Here is a picture of what I received:

Tada! Cute little bottle right? At first I thought, "wow they sure did skimp out on the sample! That's not enough to give me any idea of what this stuff is like!" Boy...was I wrong. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way.

They mention on the packaging that you can use one to two pumps and you use it once a day. Now, I have extremely dry skin. I mean...Sahara Desert dry. One pump of this stuff definitely does the trick. I was shocked! I also like using it in the morning under my makeup as the product gives a nice matte finish like a face primer. (I still use face primer, just saying it goes well under makeup!)

The website with all the product information is here: ~clicky~ The site touts that it helps with crows feet and fine lines/wrinkles. I can't attest to all that...I really don't have very bad crow's feet or wrinkles. I can however say it is moisturizing as all get out and that makes me super happy. I'm sure its helping keep the wrinkles and crow's feet at bay. It also says it helps with dark circles and puffy eye bags - THIS I can say is true. I have noticed a difference with those. Lack of sleep makes the eyes look tore up...and this makes me look a little more human and a little less like a zombie.

This serum is one component in an entire system - you can look at it and purchase from ~here~. I can't say how the rest of the system works, but if its something you are interested in there it is.

SOoooooooooooooooo...in conclusion. I like the stuff. It works well for me. Might have to be a future purchase for me. My only problem is I don't WANT the entire system. I like that stuff and want that stuff. I don't like that you have to buy a bunch of products you might not use in order to get the one thing. Fail Meaningful Beauty...fail.

Peace, love and snickerdoodle cookies! ♥ Robin

ZonePerfect® Greek Yogurt Chocolate - Perfectly Delicious!

I am here today to talk about the wonders of the ZonePerfect® Greek Yogurt Chocolate bar I received in my Influenster VoxBox this past week. I've only had one other Zone bar in the past and that one was..OK. This one on the other hand was amazing!

I'm not a huge fan of chocolate but I am a huge fan of Greek yogurt. The chocolate wasn't overly sweet which made me very happy. It also wasn't bitter, which made me even happier. It is a perfect balance of sweetness. Here I am enjoying said bar...

Its a great little bar and a nice breakfast replacement or between meal snack for me. Thank you Zone and Influenster for the snackage!

As always, the disclaimer: I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ ♥ First Impressions & Review

Okay party people! Time for a little review-ee-view. I will start of by saying this was sent to me at no cost for reviewing purposes from Influenster.

Okay all the legal stuffs out of the way. On to the review-ee-view part. I was lucky enough to receive the Schwarzkopf Dust It powder from the Osis collection...as seen here in my paw:

You might ask....WHAT ARE THIS?? (sorry was watching Jenna Marbles today.) Here's the descriptive blurb, "OSiS+ Dust It is a multi purpose mattifying powder that adds incredible root lift, texture and control. Perfect for creating thicker, fuller-looking hair."

Now in my words? Well, it is a white powder that feels cool (literally cool, as in chilly) when you dump it in your hand. You scrunch it up into your dry hair at the roots to give texture, lift, and definition to otherwise flat, limp and lifeless hair. Now...if you know me or anything about me...my hair is as fine and limp as it comes. I could use a can of hairspray in it to hold it up and it would look like a flat crusty mess.

So...I put some in my hair (not a lot, just a teenie bit) and this is what it did:

This is what it normally does (I'm on the left):

So with the tiniest amount of messing around I was able to get significant more lift than I normally have in the bang area. I posted my picture on Twitter and tagged Schwarzkopf, they actually tweeted me back telling me I could go to the website (clicky here) for more tips & suggestions on using the product. It is a level 1 hold, which is the lightest, but that's best for me. I don't like goopy/crusty hair. It was easy to manipulate once I got it in my hair. It was also easy to comb out at the end of the day, didn't get all nasty like hair sprayed hair does. I think the more I play around with it the more I'll like it.

You used to be able to get it at Ulta and Regis, although I don't see them listed anymore for places that sell it. You can purchase it online for prices starting at $9, but I think the average is about $18.

BzzAgent Campaign Time! AMDRO® PowerFlex® Pest & Weed System

I was very lucky to be selected to be a part of this BzzAgent campaign. My yard has decided it wants to be the safe haven for dandelions and clover this year. Also, being in Vegas, we have issue with roaches and spiders (Black Widows yikes!) in our yards and sometimes they creep into the house too. Scorpions as well. And ants. Okay all kinds of gross creepy crawly things.

So...this is the system I received for review:

I haven't gotten to really use it yet. I read through the instructions and looked at the different cartridges I received.

I actually received one additional weed cartridge because it was attached to the back of the sprayer. :D

I love the concept behind this system. You fill the container with a gallon of water and lock the cartridge you need into the sprayer. The water mixes in with it and it sprays out as you hold the trigger. You need to use something else? No prob. Just unlock the cartridge, put the cap back on, flush out the sprayer by holding the trigger down for 10 seconds then pop the new one in.

Eazy.Peazy.Lemon.Squeazy.

I'm going to go out and spray the buggie one this weekend for sure along with the weed killer. I'm even going to attack that stupid one popping up through the drive area in front of the condo...even though the HOA is supposed to take care of that one because technically it is on the street. Yea. They yell at me for weeds yet they can't take care of theirs. #that'sawholeotherrant

I'll update the progress of this endeavor! I can't believe how excited I am about spraying weeds lol

TaaaaaaaaaaaaaastyKakes!!!!!!!

Okay - if you know anything about me you know that I'm not generally a huge chocolate lover...with one caveat.  I...love...chocolate...and...peanut...butter. That being said, I was BEYOND thrilled to receive a sample of the Reese's Peanut Butter TastyKake in my Influenster SpringVoxBox. Holy SCHMO!

I had a crap day yesterday. Busy as all get out and I was having a mental breakdown on the phone with my mom on the way home. I got home, had that box in the mail, and BAM instant smile when I saw this little nugget of goodness sitting in the box. It was over 100 degrees out yesterday. One care in the world was not given by me that the cake was partially stuck to the package. I ripped it open and started nomming. It was good. Not super peanut buttery...but it wasn't overly chocolaty either so I was happy. Yes, I licked the frosting off the package. Its all part of the experience. ;)

One of the things I liked most about it is that it was moist. Even though it could very well have dried out like Spongebob on a desert island with the heat we have here, it was moist and yummy. But not...squishy and gross. It was perfect. Like that one in a million cake you bake that you wish happened every time. That was this Tasty Kake.

So...all in all...YUM! I suggest picking them up if you like a little bit of peanut butter and chocolate. Not something to knock you out and scream at you - but just enough to satisfy that craving you may have.

Even though this was a sample sent to me, the options are my own. That being said.....

Colgate Optic White Cleaning System - Review

Good morning everyone. I know back when I posted my initial Influenster package opening I said I would post about my teeth a week later. Welllllllllllllll yea. Its now.

If you remember the original post and video, you saw I received the Colgate Optic White toothbrush, paste & mouth wash from Influenster at no cost to me for review. Well, this is my review. Like it or not ;)

First the tooth brush. I...love...the...tooth...brush. It is amazingsauce. It feels like the bristles are dancing all over my teeth and massaging my gums at the same time. I like the tongue scraper thingie on the back. I don't have to ruin my bristles by scrubbing my tongue. I will definitely purchase this tooth brush again. It is A++++ in my book.

The toothpaste. Is good. Its not overly minty. It makes my teeth feel clean. I was using the Colgate Total Advanced Whitening previously. I can get a much bigger tube of the Total kind for the same price (roughly) as the Optic White. While I do believe Optic got my teeth whiter FASTER than the Total, I'm not sure if it actually took it to a whiter smile overall. I don't know that I would go out of my way to repurchase the Optic unless I had a coupon or it was on sale.

The mouthwash. Okay this stuff tastes disgusting. Its basically like swishing with hydrogen peroxide. I did like the foamy thing it did getting the gunk from between my teeth. I'm HORRIBLE at flossing. I admit it. I hate flossing (I'd rather do my taxes and scrub the toilets.) But the taste needs serious improvement. I had to rinse my mouth out two or three times with water before bed because the taste was that horrific. I would try it again if they did something about the taste.

On to the actual before and after pics:

This is the before:

Here is the after:

I know its hard to tell because the pics are kind of blurry and I have my morning toast stuck on the bottom teeth this morning...but I can see a difference. I drink about a pot of coffee a day, so seeing a difference is a good thing. Its not a HUGE difference, but there is one there. I'm happy with the results.

So the final breakdown. On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being sucky and 5 being fantastical:

Colgate Optic White Toothbrush: 5++++
Colgate Optic White Toothpaste: 4
Colgate Optic White Mouth Wash: 3 (would have been higher if the taste was better)

There you have it folks.

My opinions are my own no matter how I receive a product. With that...

BzzAgent - Lysol® Touch of Foam™ Campaign

Happy Easter Sunday!

I received the  Lysol® Touch of Foam™ hand soap in my BzzAgent box free for review the other day for my honest opinions about the product. It was perfect timing as the hand soap in my kitchen had just run out. I received the Creamy Vanilla Orchid scent (although it smells more like lavender to me), and I'm LOVING it!

Normally I'm not a huge fan of the antibacterial hand soaps. They tend to dry my hands out and mostly smell of rubbing alcohol. This gives a nice lather without drying out my hands and doesn't smell like alcohol at all. Good job there Lysol®! This will definitely be a repurchase for me.

Check it out if you haven't heard of it - I think its worth the money. It looks like it retails in the $3.50 to $4.00 range (depending on where you get it.) A little bit goes a long way and you can't beat the added benefits.

Have you tried it? Do you want to? Comment below to let me know what you think!

Influenster Sugar 'n' Spice VoxBox - Spring 2013

Hello again everyone! I know its been a long time but I've been crazy busy with work and just filming videos in the meantime. With that said...on to exciting things! I was selected to review the new spring 2013 Sugar 'n' Spice VoxBox from Influenster! YAY!

I received the box last week, here is the video:

Please excuse the froggy voice, allergy season you know. I waited to do a blog post so I could actually have things to say about the products. GO ME!

Please remember all these were sent to me for review by Influenster. I'm offering up my original opinions free of charge. ;)

I'll just go through things in the order I pulled them out of the box. TO THE BATMOBILE!

Splenda NECTRESSE™ - I've used this a few times so far. I even did the "taste test" where I stuck my finger in the bag to see if there is an aftertaste. NONE! Beautiful thing people, beautiful thing. The Monk fruit is supposedly exponentially sweeter than actual sugar so the extract is a perfect substitute for those of us looking for a low calorie option. Thank you to you beautiful Chinese & Thai people for discovering these properties.

Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Oil Controlling Towelettes - I've used these once so far. Honestly, I haven't been wearing tons of makeup since I got the box and I usually use stuff like this to do a final "wipe down" after I take my makeup off. What I can say is the smell is stronger than I remember but it is not offensive. I'd only used their witch hazel in the bottle form on cotton pads, so maybe them being cooped up in a tiny foil packet made them stinkier. I don't know but I do know they are convenient and it worked great for what I used it for. It also made my skin feel nice and refreshed, which was an added bonus.

Vaseline® TOTAL MOISTURE® Spray & Go™  Moisturizer - I've used this three times so far I think. I used it after I got out of the shower to give me a light coating (I seriously felt like a turkey getting sprayed with Pam) after drying off. The sprayer makes a funny noise, not anything bad but it makes me giggle. I think this would be better for people trying to chase after their kids to spray them with lotion, kind of like they do with the sunscreen. I don't know, I don't think this is worth the $8 personally when I could get a vat of the same old school pump lotion at Costco for the same price.

Colgate® Optic White™ toothbrush, toothpaste & mouth wash - OK! Here we go. So far THESE products are the standouts in the box. I thought it would be the Nectresse but HA...its the tooth stuff. First off the brush is the most amazing damn thing I have ever used. I ♥ LOVE ♥ the way it feels on my teeth and gums. The scrubby thing on the back hits the inside of my cheeks as I'm brushing away and that even feels good! The toothpaste just tastes like overly minty paste BUT I have noticed my teeth lighten since I started using it Saturday night. I have also been using the mouth wash - which takes some getting used to. Not the actual using of mouth wash but the fact that it foams up IN your mouth. Kind of like Glyoxide! These are my teeth at the beginning:

DIG those beautiful coffee stains. I will post a picture after a week of use, as the claims are you can see a difference after a week. Boom!

Last but not least...BelVita Breakfast Biscuits in Cinnamon Brown Sugar - Okay normally I don't go for these types of things but I ate them...and didn't want the package to stop. Ever. These are seriously some of the best things I've ever tasted in my life. I want more. Like...now. Right now. This instant. Get me some.

So that is the inside scoop on what I feel about this box so far...a whopping 3 days in. LoL...but its been an impressive three days if I do say so myself.

Nail Polish Lottery Club 1-20-2013: Week 2

Hello Hello Hello!

Happy Sunday! :D

I recently joined a group on Facebook called the Nail Polish Lottery. The premise behind it is to go through all your "untried" polishes and use a new one each week. They do a lotto system with random.org to draw new numbers every week and you put on the polish that corresponds with that number. Pretty simple huh? YES! I agree.

So I went through and had 55 untried polishes. I just got a new one the other day in my Ipsy box and I have three more on the way from Zoya. Ooopsieeee ;) I have a problem...at least I admit it. I have 48 polishes I've used so that's not too bad. Baaha.

I came in to the club in week 2, so here are the results. The number for the week was 187. Now I don't have 187 polishes but they said you can add all the numbers together to get your first one. 1+8+7=16! So 16 was -drum~roll- L'Oreal : Brit Invasion. Pictures are with flash and overhead light respectively.

The colour is a brown with gold duo in it. Its a lot prettier in person than the pictures show. I also have a video explaining everything. We are supposed to blog/vlog our results every week. I am going to do both :D

Can't wait to see what this weeks Nail Polish Lottery is!

Music coursing through my veins...

Every once in a while a song (or songs) will hit me so hard I have to listen to it on repeat all day for several days straight. I have two new songs that fit in this category.

First off is Esthero - Black Mermaid. I'm not sure what it is about this song...but it hit me like a lightning bolt between the eyes. The simple guitar in the intro, building to the piano in the chorus, back to the guitar. Then these lyrics punched me in the heart:

And I've spent most of my life deep down inside myself,
I've dreamt about the possibility of someone else,
Who could see the things I've seen and still wait with me,
To the darkness we could fade because we know ourselves
I didn't know if I wanted to smile or cry...so I did both.

The second song of my day is by Bruno Mars. I love me some Bruno Mars. He was born in Hawai'i, what's not to love? He normally sings catchy boppy songs that make you want to dance and sing. This...is not one of those songs. It is a very reflective song about a now dead relationship. This one hit me hard too...

I guess my heart is on my mind more than I want to admit.

Glamour Doll Eyes - January 2013 OTM!

Woo! Newest subscription!

Well....new but kinda not. I first jumped on the Glamour Doll Eyes OTM in November when they were offering 2 months for the price of one. I LUCKED out and jumped on that bad boy like a kitty on a laser pointer. I was so pleased with the two months that I decided I wanted to re-up and go again when the subscriptions reopened in January. I managed to snag a 6 month subscription (YAY!), so I will post them all here as well as on my YouTube channel!

So here is the "opening" video of Flourishing, the January 2013 OTM from Glamour Doll Eyes:

Here are the photos (sorry if they are out of focus, camera phone):

With Flash                         Without Flash

I used Flourishing on the inner lid, Permanent Address on the outer lid and crease then Dazzle Me for highlight

The colour is perfect. Everything she does is amazing! She describes the shade as a dark green with light green and almost brown duochrome. Safe for eyes, nails and face. I thought it blended well with the brows I put it with. All colours used in the eye pictures are from GDE.

Here is the information about Glamour Doll Eyes and where to find them:

Direct link to the OTM subscription - You can sign up to receive emails when the subscriptions have openings, usually around the 8th of each month.

Time for me to hit the pillow with my face. Goodnight and thanks for reading! :)

Zoya Lovely Spring 2013 & Qtica™ in general :D

Helloooooooooooo! I got a couple of wonderful packages in the mail today...one being my Zoya Lovely sampler. EEeeeeeeeeeEEeeeeeeeee!

Aren't they yummy??!?!?! The colors from left to right are:

  • Piaf
  • GieGie
  • Julie
  • Blu
  • Neely
  • Jacqueline

I was going to hold off on painting my nails until the weekend. As you can see from my thumb I didn't have a whole lot of wear on my nails yet...even though I painted them on Sunday. I kept looking over at the polishes and thinking.....eeeeeee! I want! Now! So...I did. JULIE it is!

With Flash
Without Flash
The colour is delicious. Ah-May-Zeeeng! The formula on this was very thin, almost runny. Took me one nail to figure out the best way to control it. I did three thin coats on top of a base of Qtica™ Natural Nail Growth Stimulator and Butter™ London Nail Foundation™. I used Zoya Armor Topcoat and Qtica™ Half Time Polish Drying Accelerator. I think I finally have a base & topcoat combo that really works for my nails. I used the combo for the first time on Sunday and the manicure stayed five days! Normally I'm chipping after two or three. I didn't really have chipping on this one, just some grow out! I took this picture yesterday:

Zoya Evvie™

I'm going to rave for a few minutes about the Qtica™ Natural Nail Growth Stimulator. This stuff is a miracle potion for my nails. I had the most disgusting little nubby nails on the face of the earth before I started using it. They were also thin as paper and would bend or peel...ugh!

Nublets! This is from October.
I started using the Qtica™ stuff at the beginning of November. I saw it on their site, Mom was doing an order, so I thought what the hell and got the small bottle. Mom said I should document the growth of my nails using the stuff...so I sent her this picture. 11/27 was about a week or so in to using it.

Middle & ring finger of left hand

As you can see there is quite a bit of growth after a little over a week! I use the stuff as a base coat every time I paint my nails. The website says you will see about 1/4 inch growth in 2 weeks. Uhm....yea! I sent a picture of my nails sans-polish to Mom tonight...

This is my left hand again
So about a month and a half of using the stuff and BAZOW! My ring finger grows like a maniac! I'm not sure why haha. This is the first time I can ever remember my nails being this long and not breaking, peeling, chipping, ripping, etc. I used to wear my nails about this length as ACRYLICS! I am so glad I decided to take them off and start doing my own nails. I actually enjoy painting them now...and I get more on my nail than my fingers!

So...I shall end this post now. Its now about 11:05 pm and I have meetings from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm again tomorrow. Can't wait for the weekend!

♥Robin

**Disclaimer** I was not paid for any of this post. I purchased all these items with my own money. These are my honest opinions and ideas. :) The end.

Beautiful day = great music + cute shoes

Good morning to all your faces!

Today has been a good day so far, and its only 9:08 am!

Started out with one of my favourite songs coming on the radio...which shocked the hellz out of me quite frankly. Didn't think mainstream radio would ever pick up on the awesomeness that is Macklemore's "Thrift Shop." NSFW or kiddo ears ;D

Danced to that as I put on my eye shadow this morning. GREAT way to start the day!

On to another thing that is making my day wonderful. Got my new Sole Society shoes last night! YAY!

These are the shoes I ordered {here}. I have to say...I'm loving them. The mint green is super yummy. Makes me even happier spring is coming! I have them on today and they are very comfortable. I wear a size 10 shoe so its sometimes difficult for me to find things that fit my foot properly. I also broke my right foot in the fall of last year so that's an issue I have to deal with too. The whole...shape...of my foot changed after that. Weirdness huh?

As you can see...my cat Woobie approves of the shoes. This is important. Pootie approves of them as well...found a sparkle ball in one of them this morning before work.

Influenster sent out a lovely little $25 off code in the box this month - and we can share it with friends. The code is INFLUENSTER25 and expires on 1/31/13. That was kind of fun to type! There are tons of cute shoes in all kinds of styles on there. I'm just happy they have size 10 flats! Right up my alley ♥

I love the colour on these too. They are kind of a neutral but kind of not. Just a little punch of colour to brighten up the day.

All in all, I like them so far! Of course this is one day in...but so far so good. :D

Goody Quickstyle Brush = ♥

I do have to say the #Quickstyle brush from the @influenster #HolidayVoxBox has made drying my hair easier in the morning. It's cut at least 10 minutes off my morning routine. Not to mention it gets my hair super straight!

Thursday, January 3, 2013

Sooo...I'm off vacation now...

Back at work. Whee? Decided to take the opportunity to try the Quaker® Real Medley that was sent to me in my Influenster Holiday 2012 VoxBox. The product was sent to me for review and I was not paid by either company for my opinions on this.

Now...normally.....oatmeal yuck. YUCK! Its like wallpaper paste or some goopy soup. I can never seem to get the right amount of water in it. Normally food textures don't bother me...but for some reason oatmeal texture ALWAYS bothered me. I can eat poi but not oatmeal, go figure.

That being said, I decided to give this stuff a shot anyway. It was the cherry and pistachio flavour, two things I love love love. I have to say it wasn't bad. I ate it all. I wanted more. That's saying a lot actually.

Now...I still didn't get the right amount of water in it. I put too much. I didn't measure I just kind of put the water in. We are lucky enough to have one of those water coolers at work that also has a SCALDING HOT spigot, so its pretty easy making breakfast cereals with it. I was just talking and not paying attention (story of my life.)

As you can see, I got it kind of soupy...but not TOO bad. You can also see the huge chunk of pistachio in there as well as almonds. There were also cherry chunks in there and you could tell they were real dried cherries not some gummy fruit version of a cherry. This made me a happy camper. I am not a fan of the fakey fruit flavour.

I really liked this stuff. I would probably buy it if you could get it as packets in a box rather than $1.79 for each cup full. Granted, $1.79 is cheaper than breakfast at McDs but still...you can get a whole box of oatmeal from the store for around $2-$3 and there are what, 10 packets in there? I'd probably purchase this again if I had a coupon or it was on super sale...but it won't be a regular purchase if it is always at full price. That's just a little big for my budget.

The flavour on this was grade A. I did like the mixture of multigrain in the cereal as well. The fruit and nut combo was perfect. They sent me the one flavour out of the four I see listed on the website that I would actually eat. Thumbs up for luck there! I enjoyed this little cup of oatmeal. Did it convert me in to an all time oatmeal lover? No...but it did make me a Cherry Pistachio Real Medleys fan.
